It’s the not the first time someone has tried to make a watch- style formfactor, but Sony’s Android-powered SmartWatch is a step forward from other devices. Rather than replacing a mobile phone or requiring its own SIM, the SmartWatch simply connects to your existing Android phone via Bluetooth, showing alerts and information on its 1.3in touchscreen. Messages, email and social media can all be easily read from your phone via the Watch. Google are deiinitely backing Sony’s attempt, with specialised apps for the device available via Google Play.
